Those education professionals who want to develop the skills they need to pursue leadership roles within primary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions should consider Argosy University's Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership program. All coursework is taught within the context of leading within an educational institution.
Students in this program, which can be completed in three to four years, can benefit from the flexibility of online access to classes any time, day or night.
- Reinforce and enhance their personal and professional expertise in the areas of change management, problem solving, financial management, planning, and program evaluation
- Explore the historical, philosophical, psychological, technical, theoretical, and practical aspects of education and institutional administration
- Choose between two four-course concentrations: Higher Education (for those who plan to lead large, complex educational institutions) and K-12 Education (for teachers who wish to improve their classroom techniques or transition to an instructional design role)
Graduates with a proper combination of prior experience are prepared to pursue a variety of, director, college faculty, and administrative positions, as well as several roles, including the following:

Doctoral Residency Experience
Argosy University doctoral residencies offer a valuable opportunity for students to interact with one another, meet faculty members, and acquire advanced skills and knowledge they need to succeed throughout the duration of their program and beyond.
These interactive three-day sessions are offered at various locations throughout the academic year. All doctoral students must attend a minimum of two residency programs in addition to completing their coursework.

"Employment of education administrators is expected to grow by 12 percent between 2006 and 2016, about as fast as the average for all occupations, primarily due to growth in enrollments of school-age children. Principals and assistant principals should have very favorable job prospects. Although competition among faculty for prestigious positions as academic deans and department heads is likely to remain keen, fewer applicants are expected for nonacademic administrative jobs, such as director of admissions or student affairs. In May 2006, elementary and secondary school administrators had median annual earnings of $77,740; postsecondary school administrators had median annual earnings of $73,990.
