Often referred to as a professional research doctorate, a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree program is designed to enhance the capabilities of experienced professionals to enable them to meet the dynamic needs of modern organizations and academic institutions. Argosy University's flexible online DBA features a curriculum that focuses on practical business concepts and active research rather than a purely theoretical approach.
The three- to four-year Argosy University online DBA program can provide participants with the opportunity to build on their personal and professional competencies while balancing the demands of career and family. Students can work with an academic advisor to tailor their coursework to their specific needs or choose from one of four concentrations: Accounting, Management, Marketing, and International Business.
Courses are taught by accomplished practitioners who cultivate an interactive learning experience and provide valuable professional insights.
Graduates of the DBA program with a proper combination of prior experience can pursue a wide range of administrative, director, management, consulting, and training positions, as well as several roles, including the following:
Doctoral Residency Experience
Argosy University doctoral residencies offer a valuable opportunity for students to interact with one another, meet faculty members, and acquire advanced skills and knowledge they need to succeed throughout the duration of their program.
These interactive three-day sessions are offered at various locations throughout the academic year. All doctoral students must attend a minimum of two residency programs in addition to completing their coursework.
See the Doctoral Residency page for the current program schedule and provides additional insight into our students’ experiences.
"Projected employment growth of top executives varies by industry. For example, employment growth is expected to grow faster than average in professional, scientific, and technical services and about as fast as the average in administrative and support services. However, employment is projected to decline in some manufacturing industries. Keen competition for jobs is expected because of the prestige and high pay of these positions. Top executives are among the highest paid workers in the U.S. economy. Median annual earnings of wage and salary general and operations managers in May 2006 were $85,230. Median annual earnings of wage and salary chief executives in May 2006 were greater than $145,600. However, salary levels vary substantially depending on the level of managerial responsibility; length of service; and type, size, and location of the firm."
